From the beginning of its creation, Antikva's clusters of pearls and darkened metal reminded me of an old piece of jewelry. The name is Esperanto for "antique." The fractal formula I used is one of my favorites, called a Tent formula. Works made with this formula can often be recognized by the way the fractal structure is dissected into pieces by straight, smooth lines, as seen here in the radial slices that extend outward. I've always loved the simplicity of this work – the clean lines, minimal texture, and the fact that it was created with only 3 layers. Sometimes, less is much more.
